Over New Year’s weekend Tim caught Lola and Emmett playing together – this is happening with increasing frequency and it is glorious.
So anxious to eat the waffles they wouldn’t let me take them to the table. They ate their entire breakfast standing on chairs counterside.
This box has been in our living room for going on a month really messing with my organizational sensibilities but, it’s been the highlight of Lola’s January, serving as everything from an respite from her brother to a playhouse.
Our ‘snow day’, sadly – I’m serious. It melted by the time she got outside.

Lola Turns 5!
We spent Lola’s fifth birthday at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound – a water park, kid themed suites, Magic Quest, sugar everything etc. When asked what her favorite part of her day was she said, everything <3
Her ‘wolf den’
Her first manicure at a spa designed for children
We had a private dinner in a life sized gingerbread house made of actual gingerbread (took a month and half to bake and assemble)
There is story time in the lobby every night, the reader happens to work in one of the shops and we met her earlier in the day. After the story, she called Lola up to the front to tell the entire lobby (150 + people) that it was her fifth birthday and encouraged them all to yell Happy Birthday. Amazing end to a day filled with Barbie’s, ice cream and wave pools.
Snow falling in the lobby, the genuine joy – so amazing.

Lola dressed for her first Nutcracker performance. She enjoyed it despite being exceedingly exhausted.

Thanksgiving 2011
Lola’s Baba & Oma came in from Hawaii along with aunts from all over (and Uncle Eoin) and great grandma Framma for Thanksgiving week, so much fun for all.
