“Lola’s happy birthday”
Last night while out to dinner we told Lola she’d be two today, that it was HER birthday. This morning during our first round of “happy birthday” we asked her how old she was and she said proudly, “twooo”. All day long she’s been saying “it’s Lola’s happy birthday”.
We had a nice breakfast together, played, went to Build a Bear & Baskin Robbin’s and home to run around like a wild person.
Lola loves this doll, many of you know him as “kitty baby”, not very creative I realize but it’s stuck. This afternoon we thought we’d take Lola to build her own kitty and pick out an outfit & all that. Kitty baby came too, this photo was taken on the way out – she decided once we’d gone through the effort of singing into a plastic disc and stuffing it into his foot, filling him with fluff and paying an overinflated price for the experience she didn’t have any interest at all. We’re going to the call the new kitty either “$45″ or “waste of money”, feel free to submit suggestions
At Baskin Robbin’s she picked out one of those gross looking clown cones in the freezer case, her favorite part for the bright green glob of frosting frozen to the side. After she tasted it a huge grin spread across her face accompanied by a “ooh, yummy”.

I generally try to space posts out a bit BUT seeing as most of the PNW is trapped inside and I have a slew of very recent photographs, here you go! Lola and I have been inside for the better part of the week so we’ve done a bit of baking, tis the season.

No commentsChristmas magic
This is Lola’s version of putting her feet up on the coffee table, it’s not uncommon to find her sitting next to her dad both with feet up.
Lola comforting a sad Miles. The weather has kept him inside so he’s been waking us up each morning howling about it. Rough life.
Tim has our tree lights on X-10 so they can be turned on and off by remote. Long story short, Lola believes if she blows the tree a kiss it’ll turn on or off. Occasionally we fall asleep at the switch and the “tree won’t hear her”. We’re just doing our part to reinforce that the world does in fact revolve around her or, convince her of Christmas magic
